Yahoo's new CEO, Marissa Mayer, try changing the working atmosphere in Yahoo. There are two tricks that Mayer implemented to improve employee morale.
As rumored tech site AllThingsD, starting on Friday (7/27/2012), Mayer gave free food facility for employees at Cafe URL Yahoo headquarters in Sunnyvale, California.
Actually, many technology companies in Silicon Valley who eliminate food in the office canteen. But Yahoo did not come to do that, as an effort to reduce operating costs are declining corporate earnings.
Mayer, who previously was a Google employee, carry on the tradition of Google, which is also exempt food for all its employees.
In addition to free food, Mayer also plans to change the layout of buildings and individual employee work areas. This was done so the employees more "collaborative and cold."
Apart from the demands of operational costs, a former high-ranking Google is looking to have a new movement that can improve employee morale. As Mayer promises to Yahoo, he will drive product innovation.
Technology site CNet said, Yahoo is like a ship without a rudder that is run in the last few years, without a class program.
The presence of Mayer as CEO, starting July 17, Yahoo is expected to be able to drive back to the glory days.
