Greenhouse effect, which was first proposed by Joseph Fourier in 1824, is the process of heating the surface of the celestial bodies (planets or satellites primarily) caused by the composition and state of the atmosphere.
Mars, Venus, and other atmospheric celestial objects (such as a natural satellite of Saturn, Titan) have greenhouse effect, but this article only discusses the influence on Earth. The greenhouse effect for each of the last heavenly bodies will be discussed in each article.
The greenhouse effect can be used to refer to two different things: the natural greenhouse effect which occurs naturally in the earth, and the enhanced greenhouse effect caused by human activities (see also global warming). Its rear is acceptable to all, the first accepted by most scientists, although there are some differences of opinion.
The greenhouse effect can be visualized as a process. In fact, in the atmosphere are the gas blanket. Greenhouse analogy of the earth is surrounded by glass. Well, the sun's heat into the earth through the glass in the form of short-wave radiation. Partially absorbed by the earth and the rest is reflected back into space as long-wave radiation. However, the heat that would otherwise be reflected back into space to touch the surface of the glass and trapped in the earth. The withdrawal process in greenhouses on the farm and estate, is working to hold glass heat to warm the greenhouse.
Problems arise when human activity causes an increase in the concentration of the gas blanket in the atmosphere (greenhouse gases) that exceed the concentration should be. Thus, the heat of the sun that can not be reflected into space will increase as well. All the process that is called the Greenhouse Effect. Global warming and climate change is the impact of the greenhouse effect.
