Social networking site Twitter is rumored to be adding features in the photo filter apps mobile devices. New features like Instagram will be realized in the coming months.
The news was first proclaimed by The New York Times, which reported that Twitter will update the application on mobile devices and add filter photos there.
If so, then the Twitter users who want to share images may no longer have access to Instagram to edit photos.
According to a Twitter employee, filter photo on mobile Twitter application will be welcomed by users, such as celebrities or media personalities. Twitter user with many followers often edit the photos on Instagram then distributed again on Twitter.
Not yet known whether this Twitter application update will be available simultaneously in all mobile platforms, or gradually.
Twitter's plans seem like a direct response on Instagram acquisition by Facebook in April 2012, which is worth U.S. $ 1 billion in cash and stock. This value is the largest acquisition in the history of Facebook.
As reported earlier, Twitter is also interested in buying Instagram. However, Facebook is moving faster and eventually annexed editing applications and sharing photos.
