The operating system (OS) Microsoft Windows XP, will officially retire in April 2014. Windows XP's retirement turned out to be cause for concern for many companies throughout the world because it would not be able to move to another OS.
Quoted from Softpedia, Friday (01/08/2013), it is known based on a survey conducted by a British company, Avanade, involving 200 Director of IT and Chief Information Officer (CIO). From the survey revealed that 80 percent of respondents claimed that the "death" of Windows XP will make some applications are not supported, and vulnerable.
Although Microsoft urges all people to move to the new OS, but 43 percent of the company officials said that his company currently has no plan to migrate.
Complete transition from a Windows XP to the newer platform is expected to take up to 18 months. Because of this, most companies are concerned with the fate of a number of applications in April 2014, when Microsoft stopped providing updates for the 11-year-old OS.
