Four Days, "Mountain Lion" Downloaded 3 Million Times

The operating system Mac OS x 10.8 or "Mountain Lion" was released only 4 days, but Apple's latest operating system is already downloaded 3 million times.

This was revealed in a statement released by Apple on Monday (7/30/2012) yesterday.

Two days after the release date of July 26 last, "Mountain Lion" has been used by 3.2 percent of Mac users. Since the first day of release, the latest OS has occupied the first position of Top Paid app in the Mac App Store.

High adoption rate that it makes "Mountain Lion" became the most successful OS X operating system ever released, over the previous version of Mac OS, OS X 10.7 or "Lion", which was released mid last year.

Upgrade price "Mountain Lion" is set at 19.99 dollars cheaper than the price of the operating system version of the Lion of 29.99 U.S. dollars. Factor prices are assumed to be the cause of the success of "Mountain Lion".

"Mountain Lion" is the ninth revision of OS X that comes with over 200 new features, including the Notification Center, which includes the method of sharing the entire system, Dictation, Mirroring airplay, and the Messages App.

There are also features integration with iCloud that allows users to make Mail, Calendar, Messages, Reminders, and Contacts. Cloud-based storage and synchronization-based system allows iWork documents can be updated and accessible from all the Apple devices.

Apple also plans to integrate Facbook into the "Mountain Lion", but this one feature is not yet ready to be applied and will only be available via update in the future.

According to recent research Chitika research institutes, Mac OS X operating system is the most widely used by Mac users are Mac OS X 10.6 ("Snow Leopard") which has a 45.51 percent share, followed by the "Lion" with 34.97 percent. "Mountain Lion" is still sitting in fourth position with 3.2 percent.
