Apple should be willing to be left by a fairly senior hardware technician. Bob Mansfield, the technician who had been responsible for the use of the hardware used in Apple products, will retire a few months away from Apple.
Mansfield has filed a pension to Apple CEO Tim Cook. "We are very sad he chose to retire. I hope he enjoys every day in his retirement," Cook said in a statement.
Mansfield joined Apple in 1999. For a decade he worked with the late Steve Jobs to Apple introduced a series of innovative products, which helped redefine the meaning of smartphones, and tablet personal computers.
He led the project a lot of Apple products for the hardware, such as when working on the Mac in 2005, the iPhone and the iPod in 2010, and also worked on the iPad from the outset in 2010.
The position of Mansfield will be replaced with Dan Riccio, the man who first became subordinate to Mansfield when working on the iPad. Riccio worked for Apple since 1998.
Mansfield is less known by the public as an executive and an important person at Apple. The public may be more familiar with the product designer Jonathan Ive and the Apple marketing chief Phil Schiller.
According to industry analyst Roger Kay of Endpoint Technologies, there are some senior managers who decided to leave Apple and Steve Jobs retire since late October 2011 and died on. Month of June 2012, manager Chris Weeldreyer interface designers decided to leave Apple. Weeldreyer also known as a design manager at Facebook.
