Samsung rumored to be suing LG to Seoul Central District Court, South Korea, Wednesday (09/05/2012). LG accused of stealing Samsung's display technology.
This is Samsung's first lawsuit against LG.
South Korean news agency, Yonhap, proclaim, that question is the Samsung is 18 technology secrets surrounding the display technology of organic light-emitting diode (OLED) and 21 other technologies that are relevant to the screen.
According to a spokesman for Samsung, 11 former researcher forced by LG to divulge the secrets of OLED display technology. The incident occurred in the year 2011.
Samsung also has requested compensation of 880,000 dollars for each case of leakage of secret technology that made the LG to a third party.
In July, LG Samsung has pressed for an apology. However, LG is balked at the request. They even threatened to sue Samsung because it is considered defamation.
Samsung OLED TV is lost
As reported, two televisions technologically advanced Samsung OLED lost when taken on the way to Berlin, Germany. Samsung wanted to show off the television in exhibition prestigious European electronic products, Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) in Berlin, last August.
Media reports said the perpetrators of the theft that aims to steal Samsung's advanced television technology. If so, Samsung could lose billions of dollars as it has been doing research and development long enough to put on TV OLED technology.
OLED technology is expected to become the successor of technology liquid crystal display (LCD) television in the product. OLED technology has been used in products Samsung's smartphones and tablets. The picture quality of OLED screens brighter, lighter weight, and more power efficient.
